The CSULB men's basketball team has had a very succesful season and hope to finish off strong in the Big West Tournament.
In the last home game of the regular season the men took the win against UC Irvine with a final score of 85-80. Aaron Nixon led the team with a game-high of 22 points. The game was part of a black and blue rivalry series that extends the CSULB athletics to a 16-8 lead.
The men went on to play the last regular season game on Saturday agains UC Riverside. They agian finished strong with a 91-75 win. The 49ers led for most of the game Head Coach Larry Reynolds said "I was happy with our effort in the second half. Our guys built a little cushion and sustained it. In the second half we did a better job defensively."
Now the men are headed to the semi-finals of the Big West Tournament. Their first game will be Friday, March 9 at the Anaheim Convention Center. Slotted at the #1 seed we all wish our men the best in the tournament.
